AKC BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

The Board convened on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 8:05 a.m. All Directors were present. Also present were the Executive Secretary, the Chief Operating Officer, and the Assistant Executive Secretary.

Performance Events

Beagle Field Trials – Combining Classes by Gender

The Board reviewed a recommendation from the Beagle Advisory Committee to allow a Field Trial Committee the option of combing the small Beagle Field Trial Class (13”) with the other size class (15”) from the same gender. This will give clubs the option of combining classes by either gender or size in order to run a more efficient trial. This will be discussed further in August.

Beagle Field Trials – Licensing Federation Trials

The Board reviewed a request to grant license status to events held by Beagle Field Trial Federations (group of local Beagle Field Trial clubs). Staff recommends that a license be granted to one (1) Federation field trial and one (1) Federation two-couple pack event per calendar year. This will be done by clarifying the definition of a Club to include a Federation. This will be discussed further in August.
